The Taos Chamber Music Group has announced its 25th anniversary season of “wild and scenic” music, which will run from late September, 2017 through late May, 2018. What began as the dream of flutist Nancy Laupheimer for chamber music to be a year-round presence in her hometown, has taken its place among the area's world-class summer music festivals that have made Taos a nexus for classical music. The Taos Chamber Music Group has announced its 25th anniversary season of “wild and scenic” music, which will run from late September, 2017 through late May, 2018. New Mexico further defines a local arts council by offering activities such as art education in a variety of venues:  in schools, after school programs, summer art camps and advocacy for arts education.

The Taos Arts Council applies and receives funding, through a services contract, from New Mexico Arts a division of the Department of Cultural Affairs and by the National Endowment for the Arts.

We applaud and endorse the art instruction with Taos County Adult Detention that produced the mural unveiled today. For 2017/18 in our schedule of programs and services are new partnerships and outreach services with a focus upon adult and juvenile detention centers with art education. We will fundraise and set aside income for this purpose. The Taos Arts Council welcomes Taos County to join us in a partnership and challenges you to match our expenditures for the continuation of the Taos County Adult Detention Center art activity.

Taos Historic Museums and Taos County Historical Society hope you will attend this amazing dual museum, multicultural, historical portrait photography show opening. Photographs from our collections.
