6th Annual AIS Impressions Small Works Showcase 2022

The American Impressionist Society’s 6th Annual Impressions Small Works Showcase will open on May 12, 2022 at Wilder Nightingale Fine Art in Taos, New Mexico.
The opening reception including a Wet Wall Show will be Saturday, May 14 with over $15,000 in prizes/awards. The Awards Judge is James Richards AISM who resides in Cornelia, Georgia. Richards will teach a two day workshop on location at the Fechin Studio at the Taos Art Museum as well as a demo and critique.
The exhibition will feature 152 works of art selected through a five member jury. The featured works were chosen out of 1,304 artworks submitted. Painting mediums include oil, watercolor, pastel, gouache, and acrylic.
An additional 20 paintings from AIS Masters, Board, Officers and Founder will be on display. All work is available for purchase and can be viewed on the AIS website. The exhibition will close on June 19, 2022
The opening week of May 10-14 includes a workshop, demo, museum tours, critiques and panel discussion. AIS Members Clive Tyler AIS, Kevin Macpherson AISM, Walt Gonske and Peggy McGivern will host AIS members at their homes and studios to paint on location. Private tours of Taos Art Museum and Couse-Sharp Historic Site will provide inspiration from two notable Impressionist art properties.
“We are delighted to partner with Rob Wilder Nightingale at Wilder Nightingale Fine Art to present our annual Small Works exhibition of 170 paintings. A special Paint Out will feature over 30 artists who will be painting in and around Taos from May 10-May 14. Their paintings will be on sale for one day only on May 14 so we highly encourage visitors to look for the artists as they capture the essence of Taos” noted Liz Ahrens, AIS Executive Director. “Each year we select two different locations to host our annual exhibitions and the last time AIS was in Taos was 2005” continued Ahrens.

The American Impressionist Society, Inc., is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit art organization with over 2,000 active members across the United States. AIS was founded in 1998 to promote the appreciation of American Impressionist art through exhibitions, workshops and educational programs. Membership is open to US citizens and legal residents of the US. Artists must be a current AIS member to be eligible to submit entries for AIS exhibitions.
