The Performance:
With Blueshift: The Chopin Project we invite audiences into a subtle dream-world that shifts between ancient and modern dances set to original music and re-compositions of famed composer Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin. The performance will feature sections from Les Sylphides, an 18th century classic by legendary choreographer Mikhail Mikhailovich Fokine set to the music of Chopin.
We will also present new choreography by artistic director, Megan Yackovich, and New York City Ballet’s Principal Dancer, Jock Soto, each of whom reimagine Chopin’s eternal scores into dance designed for modern audiences. Ballet Taos is excited to welcome six emerging professionals joining six young apprentices culminating in our first Summer Professional Company Project.
On Saturday:
We would like to thank the community of Taos and are offering a night of dance
August 6th at 6 p.m. at the Taos Community Auditorium.
