The small mundane yet profound things in life inspire me. The humorous superficiality of making everyday objects ... tools, fast food, souvenirs, household utensils. The irreverence of putting them on pedestals, thus making them icons.

Oil Painter – ‘Scratch that Itch!’
Artist Bio: This picture is called “Scratch that Itch”. I took it at the Badlands National Park in South Dakota, after sunset. From 40 feet away, you know it’s a bison This guy was havin’ a great time scratchin’ his underarm on a short post. I’m sure he couldn’t get to that spot by himself. Rub. Rub. Rub. Scratch. Scratch. Scratch. It musta felt good, ‘cuz his tail was waggin’ and his tongue was hangin’ out. And he was gruntin’ away. That’s a big happy bison smile.
