TAOS SPRING ARTS 2024: A LEGACY OF CREATIVITY AND COMMUNITY

Taos, New Mexico, March 15, 2024. The Taos Arts Council announces the return of the Taos Spring Arts Festival, taking place from April 12th – 27th, 2024. Celebrating over four decades of artistic excellence, this year’s festival continues the remarkable legacy of art, culture, and music that defines the vibrant community of Taos. This year’s Taos Spring Arts kicks off at the opening reception for the Taos Abstract Artist Collective’s Spring Exhibition which will be held on Friday, April 12th from 4-8pm at the Stables Gallery at Taos Center for the Arts (133 Paseo Del Pueblo Norte, Taos, NM, 87571). The TAAC Spring Exhibition opening reception will include a food pop up by Hungry Ghost, a contemporary American restaurant concept by chef partners Kevin Sousa and Meg Sousa, praised by The New York Times, Food & Wine Magazine, TIME Magazine, and featured in Anthony Bourdain’s Parts Unknown.

🌻 About Taos Spring Arts 

The Taos Spring Arts is an annual event showcasing the best of Taos’ creativity through a dynamic two week-long celebration. The festival features an array of exhibitions, art shows, art walks, projections, poetry readings, performance art, film screenings, and live music performances. It’s an invitation to experience the rich tapestry of culture that makes Taos a unique artistic hub.

🌻 History of Inspiration

Inaugurated in the spring of 1984 by Feeny (Anna Rose) Lipscomb, the visionary owner of the Historic Taos Inn at the time, the festival was born out of a desire to invigorate Taos with visitors during the typically quieter month of April. Feeny’s philosophy of “go big or go home” transformed the town into a bustling center of arts and culture, attracting visitors from around the globe with its diverse and engaging programming. Feeny’s legacy lives on as we continue to 

celebrate and expand upon her original vision, making each festival a testament to her indomitable spirit and love for the arts.
